Marie Martens x Diamanti per Tutti :
a Marie 2.0 jewellery collection

After a year of preparation, it is high time to reveal a very special collaboration on which we have worked a lot. Indeed, Marie has had the honour of being invited by the Belgian brand Diamanti Per Tutti to create a jewellery collection with them.

From her inspirations to conceive and design the collection,
to her relationship to jewels and femininity, Marie tells you everything!

Marie 2.0: Audacious and playful for a modern-day queen

When she was told about diamonds, pearls and jewellery, Marie was immediately thrilled. But on one condition: to be able to bring her Feel Good and Rock 'n' Roll touch. Marie Martens without the Barock' & Roll touch? No way!

For this project, Marie gave up leather - her favourite material - for a while to make way for Amazonite, Pink Opal, Golden Silver and Mini Diamonds. Joyfully assembled gemstones and finely worked vermeille to give shape to earrings, necklaces, bracelets and rings, inspired by Versailles and the Marie-Antoinette style. The Marie 2.0 collection is her modern interpretation of vintage baroque jewellery pieces and pays tribute to audacious and colourful women.

Marie 2.0 can be defined as a kaleidoscope of styles and possibilities. Marie has thus designed unique pieces and statement jewels, which offer endless possibilities to mix and match. Just like her handbags, our beloved designer likes to wear them in different ways, mixing colours, styles and materials in a playful and joyful way.

To give you a behind-the-scenes look at this project, our creator Marie Martens has taken part in a question-and-answer game.

We invite you to meet her every week to reveal a new answer from Marie and invite you to discover the world of Marie Martens x Diamanti Per Tutti.

Why this collab with Diamanti Per Tutti?

The collaboration with Diamanti Per Tutti came about in a very spontaneous and natural way. We've known each other for over 30 years - from when we were still in school. We crossed paths again during the fashion fairs in Paris when we'd just founded our own brands. We instantly hit it off again, since we run our labels based on the same values and standards.

Moreover, during my professional reconversion in 2012, I started a jewellery line on my own : "Marie moi". I created colourful and fashionable jewellery, I produced on a small scale! I had to put that idea on ice for a while, since I wanted to concentrate fully on my handbag collection. It kept tugging on my heartstrings, so I was really glad for the opportunity to work with Diamanti Per Tutti

The opening of the first boutique Marie Martens in Versailles created the perfect opportunity to rekindle together the history and fashion influence of Queen Marie-Antoinette and this is what inspired me in the creation of this jewellery collection.

Why Marie Antoinette and the Amazonite?

Product image

As I feel very well in my adopted city Versailles, and I'm fighting to overcome the clichés about the image of this city (#neoversaillaise), I wanted to put Versailles in the spotlight. I like people who are not afraid to colour outside the lines, those who think 'out of the box' and are born to stand out. Her exuberance is inspiring and contagious. She was quite a modern woman for her time, a bit of a feminist, an influencer "avant-la-lettre", but above all a "bon-vivant" with a taste for partying, culture, fashion and design. She helped put Paris on the map as a 'capitale de la mode'. I just love that smidge of - or heck, even full blown - kitsch, her willfulness and her independence. Just how she stood in life, "tout court".

Originally we wanted to highlight the classic 18th-century perles fines - 100% Marie Antoinette! Only, she wouldn't have chosen the most common and obvious materials. That's how we ended up going with Amazonite, a surprisingly fresh stone that fits both her personality and the pastel shades of the time - and perfectly matches with this story by and for powerful women. At the beginning of the 20th century, women fighting for equal rights used the Amazonite in their emblem. Which was of course a reference to the Amazons, a tribe of warlike single women from Greek mythology. And I'm always up for a good portion of bad-assery.

But what is even more striking are the emotional and spiritual virtues attributed to this stone:

. "The Amazonite awakens the joy of life, it helps to take situations less seriously. It is a joyful stone. It helps to put things into perspective and above all to live the present moment spontaneously. This stone fights against frustrations, it promotes spontaneity and encourages human contact. »

So it is a "Feel Good" stone, it is so Marie Martens! And very adapted to the current situation... isn't it? But this is a coincidence because I didn't predict the containment and health crisis a year ago ;)
